The Missouri flag often referred to as the Missouri Flag, is the flag of the US state of Missouri. It consists of three equal horizontal tribes of red, white, and blue stripes with Missouri arms in the center.

The red and white stripes, according to Mary Elizabeth Oliver, traditionally represent courage and purity. Blue represents three things: durability, vigilance, and government justice.
These three colors also highlight the influence of France on this country in the early years. The Missouri flag was established on March 22, 1913, when Governor Elliott Wolfolk Major signed and made the state flag law official.
History
Missouri did not have an official flag until 1861.
Marie Elizabeth Oliver designed the Missouri flag and stitched, the wife of former Sen. R. B. Oliver in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
When she was appointed chair of the DAR Committee to Research and Design the Missouri Flag, she began her flag project in 1908 as part of her volunteer work with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Oliver did a lot of research on state flags. He wrote to each state’s foreign minister to find out how his state flags designed and approved.
His original design included the Militia logo and his friend Mary Kochitsky presented it as a painted paper flag.

Both bills were not approved by parliament. A rival flag design, by Dr. G.H., Called the “Holcomb Flag,” Halkum opposed it because of its resemblance to the United States flag and its lack of Missouri symbolism.
The original paper flag of Oliver was destroyed by the burning of the state capital of Missouri in 1911. With Ms. S.D. McFarland sewed Oliver the second flag in silk.
His design was approved on March 22, 1913, when Governor Elliott Wolfolk Major signed the Oliver Flag Bill. The design of the flag has remained unchanged to this day. The silk flag was held by Marie Oliver until 1961 when it was given to Missouri by her son Allen.
This flag was displayed until it started to break down and was placed in storage. In 1988, Secretary of State Roy De Blunt challenged elementary students to raise money to return the flag.
The campaign was a success, and the restored flag has since been displayed at the James C. Kirkpatrick State Information Center in Jefferson.
Oliver-Laming House, also known as the Missouri State Flag House, was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Meaning
The color and design of the Missouri flag have significant significance. The colors chosen for the flag represent qualities such as alertness, justice, courage, and purity. Also, the state seal is also prominent on the flag, as well as a 24-star band, which symbolizes Missouri entering the United States as the 24th state.
Design and colors
The flag is a tricolor consisting of three horizontal stripes of red, white, and blue and resembles the Dutch flag. These show bravery, purity, vigilance, and justice. These colors also reflect the state of the state as part of Louisiana, France.
In the middle of the white ribbon is the Missouri seal, which a blue-ribbon containing 24 stars encircled, symbolizing Missouri’s acceptance as the 24th state of the United States.
The flag also contains the state seal that says “Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto” which translates to “the health (well-being, good, salvation, happiness) of the people must be the supreme law.”
Section 010.020 of the Amended Missouri Statute described this flag . Due to the 7:12 ratio, there are no known examples of Missouri state-compliant RSMo flags.
In 2001, the North American Virology Association surveyed its members about the flag designs of 72 US states, US territories, and Canada.

About Missouri state
Missouri is one of the Midwestern states of the United States. It borders on the east by the Mississippi River to Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee, to the north by Iowa, to the west by Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Kansas, and to the south by Arkansas.
The approximate area of the state of Missouri is about one hundred and eighty thousand and seven hundred square kilometers and has a population of six million and twenty-two thousand people.

The state capital is Jefferson City and its largest city is Kansas City. Missouri has a continental climate (cold winters and hot, sultry summers). Economically, it is home to large companies such as McDonnell Douglas, etc., and its important agricultural products include soybeans and rice.
History
Thomas Jefferson purchased Missouri from France in 1803 during the Louisiana acquisition. Seventeen years later, in 1821, Missouri joined the United States as the 24th state of the United States.
Missouri was a member of the Northern Alliance during the American Civil War. Harry Truman is the 33rd President of the United States in the history of this state.
Language
The vast majority of Missouri people speak English. Approximately 5.1% of people reported speaking a language other than English at home. Spanish is language in small Latin communities in St. Louis and Kansas City subway areas.
Missouri is the endangered dialect of French, known as French Missouri. The speakers of this dialect, who call themselves Kroll, are the descendants of French pioneers who settled in the area known at the time as the state of Illinois at the end of the seventeenth century.
It was developed separately from the French speakers in Canada and Louisiana, and was quite different from the French-Canadian and French-Louisiana varieties.
Missouri French, once widely spoken throughout the region, is now almost extinct and can only be used by a few older speakers.
Geography
Missouri is landlocked and borders Tennessee with eight different states. No state in the United States touches more than eight countries. Missouri is bounded on the north by Iowa.

By Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee across the Mississippi River to the east. South by Arkansas; And by Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska (Missouri’s last river) to the west.
While the northern and southern boundaries are straight lines, the Missouri Bootheel extends south between St. Francis and Mississippi rivers.
The two major rivers, the Mississippi River (which marks the state’s eastern boundary) and the Missouri River (which flows through the state from west to east), basically connect the two major subways, Kansas City and St. Louis.
Although part of the Midwest today, Missouri was as a frontier state, largely due to the settlement of immigrants from the south and its status as a slave state before the Civil War, balanced by influence. St. Louis.
The cities that made up Little Dixie were areas along the Missouri River in the center of the state.
